The Screen Play Of Life with Dimple Kapadia

FICCI Ladies Organisation Jaipur Chapter organized their inaugural session for the tenure 2018-2019 headed by Chairperson Nitasha Chordia with the Bollywood Diva Ms. Dimple Kapadia on “The screenplay of life “ . an actress , a star , a wife, a mother , a mother in law , a grandmother . She has played all roles in the screenplay of life. Some Special guests present for the event were Mr. Ashok Lahoti, Mayor – Jaipur, Mr. Rajeev Dasot Additional DGP, & Mrs. Rollee Agarwal, Income Tax Commissioner. It was a houseful session & we are glad to share that we launched Organic Bags made & tailored by women trained under Women Empowerment in Tailoring, going in sync with Swachh Bharat Abhiyan…

She started by remembering the old Bollywood actresses like Asha Pareek who acted like a rebel without a cause and Helen who dances without a dream … she was really influenced by them. On being asked about her first film Bobby she quoted that wherever she stands today was all because of her father who was a very progressive man. Her grandfather was upset with her being in the film industry, but he stood for his daughter at that time, it was simply amazing. Her father knew a lot of people in the industry. At the age of 12 when she was suffering from leprosy, Raj Kapoor found her as a beautiful girl who could work in her movie. When you are young, there is no fear, you are so full of life. Before he had selected her she had already told her friends that she was Bobby and had failed the test. But when Raj Kapoor called her father; her dreams came true. it was a fabulous time of her life. Whatever she wanted or desired just happened. It was magical. AT 13 she didn’t know that he was such a great showman, but she hadn’t met another director like him.

On being asked that if she missed her teenage years when she was married at the age of 17 and became a mother; she said she had already become a teenager at 8 only since girls get mature faster. She quoted a lovely incident of how she got hitched to Rajesh Khanna ..she said she was always a filmy girl; so once when they were on a private plane together she asked him if he would hold her hand amongst strangers in the party, he agreed. On which she asked him “ Hamesha k Liye”? This is how it all began.

On asking her views about raising a child as a single parent she said it’s all about compassion, empathy. 

Her mantra in life – live and let live. She added by saying that life is bizarre and lovely .. it is a roller coaster and I m still riding on it.
She rates spirituality very high in life and says u can’t take a single step without taking care of spirituality.

She said she didn’t contribute much in the upbringing of her kids. They imbibed a lot from what they saw. Twinkle is now a big bully; but at the age of 8 when Dimple got separated, she wanted to take care of her. She was amazing. Dimple had started making candles for which twinkle got a consignment form Good earth. Rather twinkle is her mother now.
Her philosophy is very simple. live and let live. She cannot bear conflict. She didn’t want to get into that zone so she never entered it.
Movies had always been a stressful journey for her. They had taken a lot of her to come out and act since she has been introvert and it took a toll on her.

She had blind faith that she will be taken care of. This shall pass through. If one door is shut another with open. There is certain design to our lives not that she had cracked her own .its a constant learning .you just have to dig in and hang in there.
