FLO Bangalore organized the Saree Edit celebrating India’s rich heritage and craftsmanship, with a special focus on the revival of national costume – the saree. This event aimed to support lakhs of weavers across the country.
The event included a panel discussion featuring Pavithra Muddaya, Latha Puttana, and Ambika Raje Sandur, moderated by Prasad Bidappa. The martial arts performance by the Silambam artists was a reminder of India’s cultural depth, showcasing strength, precision, and artistry.
The successful initiative was to support the artisans, honor Indian traditions, and revive the pride in the saree. The event also featured “The Saree Story” – a video sharing the journey of the saree, the business aspects of the current saree market, and future projections for the industry.
FLO Bangalore also launched the Motif eBook, a collection of motifs contributed by talented members. A business presentation was presented by the Business Cluster head Ms. Bindu Sastry as members graced the ramp in sarees representing the diverse regions of India.
