A dream gets realised with the collaboration of FICCI FLO Jammu-Kashmir Ladakh, Chairperson Kuwarani Ritu Singh and JIO, supported by The Ashok Kapur Foundation, with the installation of a first Tower enabling internet connectivity in the remote area of Tikri. FICCI FLO JKL chairperson Kunwarani Ritu Singh along with her members and a team led by Ashutosh Bajaj State Head Jio, Vipinder Chibber Tower Head Jio & Sharad Bhardwaj Area Head Udhampur of JIO inaugurated the newly installed JIO Tower at village Seenthakran Tikri. What started as a dream for Kuwarani Ritu Singh on the 14th November 2021, as she celebrated Children’s Day at the government middle school at Seenthakran, Tikri. Seeing the potential and the eagerness of the girl children to learn computers, she thereby started a campaign to create a “Digital Beti Vriddhi” Based on the real life inspirations Anshika and Gungun Sharma.
He started this by creating an awareness by a successful Half Marathon and then collaborated with JIO to enable internet connectivity in the remote area of Tikri. Within a span of 9 months the dream got realised.
This successful collaboration promises to empower a new generation of computer and tech savvy children from rural section of society.A big feat for FICCI FLO JKL, as it takes the lead towards providing Digital Literacy to the remotest villages. The function was celebratory and highly interactive as members were seen engaging with the students, staff, management of the school along with the local Sarpanch’s and representatives of local bodies.
