Training women power through vocational pathways accelerates advancement and economic development in our diverse country.
Ramdhenu is a skilling centre for underprivileged women started in the year 2018, a collaborative venture of FICCI FLO Northeast and a local NGO OSHAD.
Since its inception over 200 women have been trained in stitching and tailoring by Usha trained teachers, at a minimal cost of Rs 100 per month. The centre is well equipped with sewing machines, both basic and advanced to ensure efficiency. Many of the trainees have also been provided sewing machines by FLO, depending on their sincerity and dedication. They have been able to set up their own tailoring enterprises, and find suitable job avenues.
With the training provided their calibre has become professional.
Advanced tailoring and embroidery courses are also conducted at the centre.
From time to time, other training like phenyl making, candle making, etc. which can give the underprivileged women an extra income, are also provided to desirous candidates.
FLO NE awards the trainees with Certificates at the end of term. At present, the 8th and 9th batch are undergoing training.
The 7th batch of skilled trainees passed out and were awarded certificates by FLO for their proficiency in stitching and tailoring after stringent evaluation in a joyous ceremony.
All trainees passed with a 1st division while two with an A+ grade in first division while two in second division. A proud moment.
