Plantation Drive at The Gandhian Institute

FLO Jaipur conducted a successful plantation drive to plant 1,111 trees, on September 14th, 2024 at The Gandhian Institute at Rajasthan Samgra Seva Sangh, Jaipur. Under the leadership of Chairperson Ms. Raghushree Poddar, this initiative aimed at enhancing environmental sustainability while engaging the local community in meaningful action. A group of 100 children, brought by The Gandhian Institute, actively participated in the plantation drive and enthusiastically took part in the quiz session, making the event both educational and impactful. FLO members also benefited from the positive environmental impact.

Key Highlights:

● Plantation of 150 Trees: The event saw the planting of 150 trees at the institute.
● Inspiring Welcome and Address: The event began with a warm welcome by committee member Ms. Parina Jain. Following this, Ms. Raghushree Poddar addressed the gathering, sharing her vision of environmental responsibility and expressing gratitude for the continued support of the participants.
● Participation of Environmental Warrior Savi: A special highlight was the involvement of 12.5-year-old Savi, an environmental activist recognized for her efforts in securing a stay order on a proposed fintech park in the Dol ka Bagh Forest. Ms. Poddar honored her for her courage and dedication to environmental protection.
● Interactive Quiz Session: Ms. Vrinda Kothari, Vice Chairperson of FLO Jaipur, conducted an engaging quiz involving all attendees, including 100 children from the local community.
● Community Collaboration: The drive brought together committee members, FLO members, and local residents to plant 150 trees, fostering a collective sense of responsibility and community spirit.
● Fun and Games: The event concluded with a distribution of food boxes to the children and a round of games and quizzes, celebrating the importance of environmental awareness in a joyful and inclusive manner.

The plantation drive attracted active participation from FLO members, the Executive Committee, and the local community. Particularly notable was the engagement of young participants, who contributed to the plantation effort and took part in the educational activities

The authorities and dignitaries of The Gandhian Institute played a pivotal role in facilitating this noble cause by providing the grounds for the tree plantation and coordinating with their team to ensure the participation of the children at the venue. The event was organised with the dedicated efforts of committee member Ms. Parina Jain.
