FLO Kanpur, led by Chairperson Ms. Nalini Sanwal, organized a session at the MSME office, HBTU under the National Initiative – MSME Assist Cell. The event aimed to enhance awareness about the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme and the importance of Geographical Indication (GI) tags in promoting local industries and preserving traditional craftsmanship.
The session was held under the leadership of Chairperson, Ms. Nalini Sanwal, and was organized by Event Chairs, Ms. Parul Rajoriya, and Ms. Roli Gupta. 23 FLO members attended the session.
The session featured two renowned speakers, Dr. Rajni Kant, Padma Shri Awardee (2019) and widely recognized as the GI Man of India. He shared his expertise on how GI tags play a crucial role in preserving cultural heritage and adding value to local products and highlighted successful examples of GI-tagged products.
Mr. Sunil Kumar, Joint Commissioner of MSME, provided insights into the ODOP initiative, emphasizing its potential to stimulate economic growth by promoting indigenous products unique to each district. Mr. Kumar also discussed how the government supports artisans and entrepreneurs through the ODOP scheme, fostering sustainable development.
