FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) organised a talk on “Make your Money work for you” on February 25, 2023 at FICCI. Mr Kalpen Parekh, Managing Director & CEO, DSP Investment Managers Pvt. Ltd was the speaker.

FLO believes in holistic growth and development of existing women entrepreneurs and potential entrepreneurs, so that they can take well informed decisions and become equal contributors to the nation’s economy.

Kalpen Parekh has over 19 years of experience in sales across client segments, distribution, and marketing. He was previously Managing Director and Head of Sales & Marketing at IDFC Mutual Fund. He has also served in Birla Sun Life Asset Management Company Limited and ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company Limited after beginning his career with L&T Finance Ltd.

“One should learn from Warren Buffett, the richest investor. He started investing at 11 and said I repent I started 11 years late. He knew that the most powerful force to multiply savings is time given to good businesses. So, invest for the long term. This means don’t stay out, start early, learn about asset classes. Don’t ask what returns I will get. Instead, ask, when things don’t work, how much can I lose? This will make you a safer investor and help you grow your money over time”, said Mr Parekh.

At a time when the world is still grappling and recovering from the pandemic shock and the economic downturn that ensued, it was very enriching and empowering to understand from a stalwart from the industry, about the current economic scenario in the country, impact of global recession and good Investment behaviour in general and particularly in the current times.

Poonam Mahajan, National Treasurer FLO gave the opening remarks. Dr Aarti Gupta, GB member and Head of FLO Start Up Cell moderated the interactive session after the talk. Pooja Chauhan, National Joint Treasurer gave the Vote of thanks.
