‘A Journey Through Art’ – A Creative Confluence! With Radhe Jaggi And Sandeep Narayan

Dance is an outpouring of the exuberance of one’s life energies while Indian classical music is a sound statement about the profoundness of life.

FLO Hyderabad Chapter witnessed how a marriage of two Artists belonging to different art forms, can come together in perfect harmony for a greater cause, giving way to a beautiful union of music, dance, and social outreach. A cracker of session was organised by Chairperson, Uma Chigurupati, with Radhe Jaggi – Bharatanatyam Exponent and Sandeep Narayan – Carnatic Musician!
Hon. Secretary, Radhika Agarwal welcomed the audience with an excellent reminder that India is a culturally rich country and encompasses an immense and intricate tapestry of Classical music and dance forms.
The very crucial topic of Saving Rivers, through Cauvery Calling, an initiative that is very close to both Radhe Jaggi and Sandeep Narayan, was splendidly explored during the session.

Radhe Jaggi said that she was greatly influenced by her mother, who taught her to love and to care for everyone around her. From her father Sadhguru, and the Isha foundation, she learnt greatly about social outreach, like medical, environmental, music and dance, and of course spiritual outreach programs. Radhe explained about her initiative – “Shishya,” which talks about the various people and moments that influence a new thought or process in a person’s life.
Sandeep Narayan spoke about his journey. He was born and brought up in Los Angeles. After completing his law, he shifted permanently to India to take up Carnatic Music as his career on the advice of one of his Gurus. Uma Chigurupati rightly remarked “The younger generation musicians have the capability to take the art to the newer generations and to the crossover audience.

As the session moved forward, Uma Chigurupati steered the conversation to the most vital part of the session – the Cauvery Calling Campaign which was under the umbrella of the Rally For Rivers initiative by Sadhguru. When the song, “Cauvery Thaaye” was played, we could see the flood of emotions rush through the audience, especially that of Ms. Chigurupati’s. With reference to a mother and the apologies made to Cauvery Thaaye (Mother), She talked about an emotion in Telugu called – Aadratha, which is a plethora of soulful emotions, that she said were ignited inside her as she heard this song. She applauded how beautifully Sandeep delivered a significant social message through Cauvery Calling, in its raw folk flavour.

Radhe further elaborated on the ‘Cauvery calling’ campaign. The main aim of the campaign was to create awareness in the farmers about Agroforestry and hence protecting and raising their economic condition and creating ecological Impact. They went Village to Village educating farmers to plant trees and grow other crops in between the trees. These trees roots would hold lots of rain water which would help to control floods in future. Radhe further mentioned that Within 5 years the Income of the farmers would go up by 8 times. They raised lot of funds for this Campaign through their Performances too Radhe and Sandeep’s take on life, weaving together the traditional and the contemporary lifestyle with spontaneity, creativity and innovation left the 100 plus audience inspired with renewed Zeal towards the Classical Art forms.
