Investing in ART – a beginners guide held on 21st August 2019

So what makes a painting’s value turn more than a thousandfold over the years, how do you select a painting if you are a newbie collector, how do you know the artist you just invested in is bankable or not and how can you recognize a genuine work of art from a fake?

The trio of Varun Backliwal, Arjun Agarwal and Lisa Jain from Artisera (an online market portal for art, collectables, fine furniture) enthralled the Flo members with their thorough knowledge and insight into the world of art. The event was held at the rooftop Art Cafe in Sheraton Grand Hotel.

India is poised to become a leading player in the market because of the increasing number of buyers in the 30- 40’s age bracket with more disposable income at their means.

A few pointers to keep in mind before buying any piece of art were covered.

The event was followed by a Q & A session, a preview to how an art auction is conducted and a walk through the art studio. The members came away with the realization that art is definitely something that makes you breathe a different kind of happiness.
