Interactive Session with Delegation from the Central & North Punjab Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CNPWCCI), Pakistan New Delhi:

An interactive session with the visiting delegation of businesswomen from the Central & North Punjab Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CNPWCCI), Pakistan was organized by FLO on February 1, 2013 at New Delhi.

The Pakistani delegation was led by Ms Qaisra Sheikh, President –CNPWCCI. It was a multi—sectoral delegation – real estate, medical services, jewellery, textiles and garments, hospitality, beauty products, aviation and pharmaceuticals.

The Vice president of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry was one of the delegates. A list of delegates is attached for your reference.

Anuradha Goel, Past President –FLO and Vice Chairperson, SCWEC-India Chaired the session. She said that FLO and CNPWCCI share common goals of women empowerment, many of the activities undertaken by the two chambers, being the same.

One noteworthy project initiated by the CNPWCCI is the arrangement of shop space at low rates in big shopping malls (perhaps on the 3rd floor) to entrepreneurs to start their business.

The chairperson Qaisra Sheikh said that a lot of upcoming business women had benefited from this.

As some members from FLO India and CNPWCCI Pakistan had common businesses with each other, the delegates from Pakistan expressed keen interest in deepening the association between the two organizations to share best practices. The leader Qaisra Sheikh talked of signing an MOU between the two organizations. Anuradha Goel requested her to send a draft of the MOU which could be put up in the PPC for approval.

The meeting ended with both organizations satisfied with the exchange of objectives and future plans.
