A sanitary napkin vending machine was inaugurated at the Girls’ Common Room of VSSD College as a part of a joint initiative by FLO Kanpur and VSSD College. The event aimed to promote menstrual hygiene and raise awareness among students. Alongside the inauguration, an awareness seminar was conducted to educate students about menstrual health and hygiene.
CA Neetu Singh, Joint Secretary of VSSD College and senior social worker joined as the Chief Guest of the event. Dr. Rajni Singh, Professor at Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Medical College joined as the Special Guest. CA Neetu Singh joined as the Chief Guest’s Address and highlighted the importance of raising awareness about menstruation. Dr. Rajni Singh also joined as the Special Guest’s Address, spoke about the physical problems students face due to a lack of proper knowledge about menstrual hygiene. She stressed the importance of educating students about cleanliness during menstruation to prevent health complications.
The event witnessed the participation of members, including Anuradha Varshney, Tripti Agarwal, Program Coordinator Parul Rajoria, and Chitranshi Agarwal. College dignitaries including Principal Prof. Bipin Kaushik, Vice-Principal Manjulata Dwivedi, and Director Dr. Anshu Singh Sengar, and hundreds of students and college staff attended the event.
The installation of the sanitary napkin vending machine ensures easy accessibility to sanitary products for the students, promoting better menstrual hygiene practices.
