Inaugural Event- Three Women

The inaugural event on 17th April Monday 2023 at Taj Bengal Kolkata , commenced with lighting of the lamp by dignitaries present followed by the inaugural speech of the incoming Chairperson Radhika Dalmia. She introduced the committee members, shared her theme “ IGNITE THE SPARK WITHIN”.

It was followed by a musical theatre “Three women” by Isheeta Ganguly. This is an adaptation of our own Nobel literature laureate, Rabindra Nath Tagore – TEEN KANYA. The story is about relationships – how they form and unravel over the years .

There is a profusion of literary aphorism in this book, for instance, “ The truth is that no dependant looks favourably upon another”. This heart-rending bittersweet story is a beguiling combination of comedy and tragedy. The leads were brilliantly characterised, and their relationships carefully crafted. The anguish and emotions remain with the audience even after the play concludes. The event was well received by the members and ended with them bonding over hi-tea.
