FLO Chennai, in partnership with Apollo Hospitals, organised a panel discussion on women’s health. The event featured a distinguished panel of experts from Apollo Hospitals, including Dr. Meera Raghavan, a specialist in Urogynecology; Dr. Asha Reddy, an expert in Breast Oncology; Dr. Preeti Mrinalini, specialising in General Surgery and Weight Management; Dr. Sheela Nagusah, a General Physician and Internal Medicine Specialist; and Dr. Shraddha M, a Dermatologist and was moderated Dr. Sathya Sriram, CEO of Preventive Health. The chief guest for the event was Dr. Suneeta Reddy, Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals.
The discussion began with opening remarks from Divya Abhishek, Chairperson of FLO Chennai, who emphasised the importance of women’s health and the need for open conversations about health issues that affect women at different life stages.
Dr. Raghavan highlighted common urogynecological issues, stressing the importance of pelvic floor strengthening exercises to prevent incontinence, especially in women experiencing hormonal changes during menopause. Dr. Asha Reddy focused on breast health, urging women to be proactive about regular screenings and early detection of breast cancer.
Dr. Preeti Mrinalini shared insights on weight management, discussing the role of nutrition and exercise in achieving and maintaining a healthy weight. She explained the significance of making informed dietary choices tailored to individual needs. Dr. Sheela Nagusah addressed overall health management, emphasising the necessity of preventive healthcare and routine check-ups to identify potential health issues early.
Dr. Shraddha M concluded the discussion by discussing skin health, noting how hormonal changes can impact skin conditions and the importance of a proper skincare routine. The chief guest, Dr. Suneeta Reddy also provided expert insights into general health practices and the significance of addressing women’s unique health challenges.
The interactive session encouraged participants to engage with the panelists, ask questions, and seek advice on their health concerns. Overall, the panel discussion served as a vital platform for raising awareness about women’s health issues, empowering women to prioritize their well-being, and fostering a supportive community around health education.
