GUFTAGU-A Lyrical Interaction with Javed Akhtar

The 2nd event of the year 2023-2024 was a lyrical interaction with the legendary Javed Akhtar — “GUFTAGU” about his conversational exchange of his book “TALKING LIFE” . It was musically moderated by a local renowned band “Dhwani” who intermittently played popular music of Javed Akhtar Saheb to entertain the participating audience.

In “ TALKING LIFE “ which is a conversational biography of the poet, lyricist, screenplay and writer Javed Akhtar Saheb with Nasreen Munni Kabir looks back at his struggles, mistakes, wins and victories from his childhood to the current day. During the event Javed Saheb recited the poem “DO RAHA” which he had written for his daughter. He revisited various chapters of his life in a very matter of fact way and narrated anecdotes with his biggest weapon – Humour.

“You should be standing on your toes to achieve something”, noted the poet and this resonated with the entire audience of about 295 people.
This interesting FLO event ended with numerous members buying his books and queueing up for his autographs and photographs.
