Green Connect- First Networking Monthly Meet

FLO members had their first Green Connect networking monthly meet at the popular restaurant, Cellad Eatery, the venue partner for Green Connect.

The first speaker of the day, Mr.Ashish Agarwal of Manav Sadhana , an NGO which trained the rag pickers, whom they call Pariyavaran Mitras, to make lampshades, pen stands, vases etc. out of the waste they collected.

The meet was also addressed by Rushabh Gandhi, who is also in charge of Yuva Unstoppable in Baroda, weened youth away from selling beedis and cigarettes and taught them to make greeting cards, diaries, notepads and decorative vases.

Mr. Prashant Pandya of Solid Waste Management (SWM) AMC, also spoke about the humongous amount of solid waste generated by the citizens of Ahmedabad and the disposal techniques employed by the AMC.
