Girls with Tech – Building a Digital Future Together

FICCI FLO Mumbai, in collaboration with its Knowledge Partner NIIT Foundation and Outreach Partner Patuck Polytechnic Trust, launched the National Digital Literacy Program at the Patuck Campus, Mumbai.
This program aims to digitally empower 200 girl students from Grades 9 to 12, providing them with the necessary skills to thrive in today’s technology-driven world. The event featured the formal inauguration of the digital classroom and a signing ceremony of the MOU between FICCI FLO Mumbai and Patuck Polytechnic Trust, marking the start of this transformative educational journey.

The highlights of the event included:

1. Inauguration of the Digital Classroom: The ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the beginning of a new chapter for the girls, who logged into the digital portal with enthusiasm.
2. Lighting of the Lamp: Symbolizing the path of knowledge and progress for the students.
3. Inspiring Addresses: The students were motivated by National President Joyshree Das Verma (joining online), who emphasized FLO’s dedication to empowering young women through digital skills. Dr. Kuwarani Ritu Singh, Chief Guest and Founder Chairperson of FLO Jammu & Kashmir, spoke passionately about the role of digital technology and AI in the future, urging students to fully embrace the program. Additionally, FLO Mumbai Founding Chair and Past President Ms. Kiran Gera and Past Chairperson Ms. Swati Mayekar shared insights on the importance of education and technology as tools for financial independence.

Chairman of Patuck Polytechnic, Mr. Aadil Patuck, expressed his full support for the initiative, assuring that the faculty would work diligently to ensure every student benefits from the digital literacy courses.

The six-week program, monitored closely by NIIT Foundation in collaboration with Patuck Polytechnic, aims to:

  • Equip students with critical digital knowledge.
  • Enable them to apply these skills in various work environments.
  • Foster informed, ethical, and capable digital citizens.

The event culminated in a heartwarming performance by the students, expressing their gratitude through song and dance.
