FLO Style Tatva, FLO Hyderabad’s signature event for 2019-20, owes its nascence to FLO’s abiding mission of women’s empowerment and inclusivity.
Conceived as a platform for creating India wide business opportunities for women working in various fields, the scale of the fashion and lifestyle exhibition grew dramatically from the time of its conception to the time of execution. Started off with a modest size in mind, it quickly snowballed into an all-inclusive, expansive platform of 207 pan-India brands – from metros, tier 2 cities and villages too! The participation cut across segments and included new brands, upcoming ones, established names and also, entrepreneurs at the grassroots level. I am happy to report that FLO-assisted entrepreneurs were also given free stalls to showcase their wares.
The venue was the best and largest in Hyderabad, HITEX. Organised over 2 days, 10th & 11th August, the exhibition saw a footfall of close to 8000. 50 FLO members lent their unstinted support as volunteers both before and during the event. 50 student volunteers were engaged during the two crucial days. They have briefed their duties two days in advance and were provided with branded attires.
Style Tatva was not just an exhibition but a dream of our visionary Chairperson Ms.Sona Chatwani. It was given due shape by Style Tatva Convenor, Ms.Usharani Manne, Co-convenor Ms. Simran Chabra, Core committee and other committee members.
Guests of Honour were Ms. Harjinder Kaur Talwar, National Flo president and Ms.Swati Lakra, IGP,IPS, She Teams and Bharosa Centres Head. They inaugurated the exhibition along with Chairperson Ms.Sona chtwani, Convenor, Ms.Usharani Manne and many past chairs of FLO and YFLO.
The Guests of Honour then took a tour of the entire exhibition and thereafter attended a press conference.
Day 2 of the exhibition also had Style Tatva Awards felicitating 18 exhibitors under various categories. In the evening the Style Tatva Committee was felicitated for their hard work and efforts. This was followed by felicitation of 50 student volunteers.
The funds generated from FLO StyleTatva will partly be used to further FLO’s skilling, training and social initiatives.
FLO Style Tatva was a coming together of minds, spirits and capabilities. It taught us invaluable lessons in teamwork, coordination, execution, crisis management and financial self-sufficiency. It taught us that by women, of women, for women is not just a poster statement but an actuality that can be lived again and again.
