FLO Siliguri and Sevok Motors Launch Free Driving Lessons for Women in Need

On September 6th, 2024, FLO Siliguri, in collaboration with Sevok Motors, launched a free driving lesson program, the Free Driving Learning Initiative. The remarkable initiative aimed at empowering women and enabling them to gain financial independence,
This program is designed specifically for women who are either sole earners or facing financial hardships, allowing them to acquire driving skills and potentially earn a livelihood.

15 women from diverse backgrounds will receive free driving lessons, equipping them with skills for employment opportunities like driving school vans, cabs, or working with transport companies. Mayor Gautam Deb, who launched the initiative, praised FLO Siliguri and Sevok Motors for empowering women and promoting economic independence, reflecting the administration’s commitment to women’s welfare.

The session was attended by 9 members, who were pivotal in organising the event and ensuring the seamless execution of the program and also played a key role in identifying women who could benefit most from this training.

In his speech, Mayor Deb said, “This initiative is a positive step in helping women rise above their challenges and equip themselves with a skill that can help sustain them and their families. I hope to see many such programs in the future.”

This initiative not only provides these women with a practical, employable skill but also aims to boost their confidence and help them reclaim control over their lives.
