This year, FLO NE’s slogan of Collaboration, Communication and Continuity , under Chairperson Smita Agarwal, is close to that of our National President Neeta Boochra’s central mission to integrate and synergize links between Chapters pan-India.
To that end, FLO NE , has utilised the resources of the Mumbai Chapter for a 3 month Gems and Jewellery Development Programme, sponsored by the PSU, OIL India, at the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, an autonomous organisation under the MSME , Govt. of India.
FLO NE facilitated the process by Jayashree Verma introducing Dr Sriparna Barua, Head, Centre for Industrial Extension, IIE, to Ms. Renu Kapoor, Chairperson, Mumbai Chapter, and Director of the Indian Institute of Jewellery, who has sent so far, 3 sets of trainers, including herself and Mrs Pradnya Chauhan, Past Chairperson of Mumbai, to oversee the training of 60 bright and enthusiastic youngsters from strife torn areas of Upper Assam.
FLO NE would like to take the process further and hopes to find a market for their products in the jewellery businesses owned by other FLO members in Delhi and Jaipur (another area of interstate collaboration ) as also boutiques owned by local FLO members .
