FLO JKL Visits Ashakari: An Exhibition of Rural Art, Craft & Cuisine by UMEED JKRLM

FLO Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh visited “Ashakari”, an exhibition showcasing rural art, craft, and cuisine by the skilled and empowered women of UMEED, JKRLM. The event highlighted the talent and entrepreneurship of women from various regions of Jammu and Kashmir, who displayed an array of products. From aromatic herbal kahwa, honey, and turmeric to exquisite shawls, firans, bedspreads, handcrafted baskets, paper mache items, and an array of local delicacies, the exhibition was a celebration of the region’s rich heritage and craftsmanship.

The FLO JKL team interacted with the artisans, learning about their craft and expressing admiration for their dedication and creativity. Anissa Nabi, State Project Manager, JKRLM, welcomed the team and guided them through the various stalls, offering insights into the stories behind the products. The visit underscored FLO JKL’s commitment to supporting and promoting local women entrepreneurs.
