FLO and IWEC, jointly organised a virtual session titled “Access to Trade & Growth For Women In SME: Promoting India as an Emerging Business Destination” on July 27,2021.
The objective is to connect women in business globally and facilitate business collaboration, thereby driving women’s entrepreneurial empowerment. The goal is to support successful midsize women-owned businesses in gaining and expanding access into international markets and in growing their visibility and brands.
It is an initiative to promote India as an emerging business destination. This session covered the following aspects:
In her welcome address, Ujjwala Singhania, National President -FLO said, “ We not only want to promote India as THE emerging business destination but also create a platform that will help businesswomen expand their networks, meet partners, open markets, and learn from people with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.”
Nancy Ploeger, Executive Vice President, IWEC Foundation spoke about the inception of IWEC as an initiative of Barcelona Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce (New York) and FLO and US Department of State. She highlighted on the current outreach of IWEC which is across 42 countries.
Mukta Jain, Past President FLO and Founder Chair-IWEC India spoke about the FLO-IWEC collaboration which started in 2007 and expressed her delight on the illustrious journey of 13 years of supporting women business owners to Connect, Learn, and Grow.
Harjinder Kaur Talwar, Past President, FLO & India Chair, IWEC spoke about the ease of doing business in India. Ms Talwar also explained about the concept of the virtual session and said, “This session is a resultant of our endeavour to reach out to our members and IWEC members who would like to explore business opportunities in a global platform.”
Jyotika Jhalani, Founder & Creative Director – Janavi India shared her experience of doing business globally and building a globally reputed brand that represents Indian ethos and heritage.
Anat Bernstein-Reich, Managing Director (Israel) A&G Partners spoke about her experiences on doing business in India.
Lalita Nijhawan, Global Ambassador, IWEC proposed the Vote of Thanks.
