FLO AWARDS

The much awaited flagship event of FLO, the prestigious FLO Awards was celebrated in style on March 21, 2014 at the Sheraton Park Hotel & Towers. Several stars descended that day and glimmered brightly.

The Chairperson Ms.Mrinalini Maher welcomed the audience and elucidated on the selection process and introduced the Jury members for the Awards which comprised of Past Presidents and Past Chairpersons of Chennai Chapter. The winners were Dr.T.S.Kanaka – Best Woman Professional, Ms.KrishnammalJaganathan – Best Woman Social Worker and Ms.JayadeviCholayil – Best Woman Entrepreneur, they received the Awards from Dr.Indira Parikh, former Dean of IIM-A and founder of FLAME(Pune), Mr.Rafiquee Ahmed, Chairman, FICCI- Tamil Nadu and Mr.JitendraVummidi, VummidiBangaru Jewellers respectively.

For each of the Awardees, a citation was read out, a stunning AV presented, and a specially designedsculpture was presented as the trophyamidst cheers and applause of the members.The audience was spell- bound when they AVs of the winners was screened. The indefatigable and indomitable spirit of the octogenarian winners humbled one and all.

The grand finale of the evening was the Fashion show which was choreographed by Karun Raman. 20 FLO members sashayed down in their finery adorned by Vummidi’s jewels. It was a fusion of the traditional and the trendy.

The evening ended with a sumptuous dinner where the members bonded with each other. The eventwhich was sponsored by VummidiBangaruJewellers, was well compered by Shahnaz who also delivered the vote of thanks.
