Financial Literacy Workshop: Empowering Women at the Grassroots Level

FLO Jaipur conducted a significant financial literacy workshop for grassroots women at the Nari Shakti Bank, Malviya Nagar, Jaipur. Organized under the leadership of Chairperson Raghushree Poddar, the event was attended by 25 women from Sitapura and Malviya Nagar industrial areas.

This initiative aimed to equip women at the grassroots with essential financial knowledge and independence in managing their finances. The event was coordinated by executive committee members Neeta Joshi and Shraddha Rawat, in collaboration with the dedicated team at Nari Shakti Bank.

The program focused on comprehensive financial education, with hands-on demonstrations and interactive discussions led by bank representatives.

Key topics included:

  • Banking Essentials: Opening and managing savings and current accounts.
  • Health and Medical Schemes: Awareness of women-specific schemes.
  • Savings and Investments: Long-term saving plans like FDs and RDs.
  • Practical Banking Skills: Usage of ATMs, online transactions, and mobile banking apps like GPay, PhonePe, and Paytm.

The session was facilitated by Ms. Jyotsana Chouhan, a representative from Nari Shakti Bank, who engaged participants with practical insights and approachable guidance. Each participant received brochures, containing details about banking schemes and services, and food packets. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the branches are a milestone in promoting financial inclusivity. These specialized branches provide:

  • Skill Development and Mentorship: Workshops, advisory services, and networking opportunities.
  • Comprehensive Support: Serving as hubs for financial literacy and entrepreneurial development.

The workshop not only educated participants but also highlighted the collaborative efforts of FLO Jaipur, executive committee members, and Nari Shakti Bank in driving positive change.
