FICCI LADIES ORGANISATION LAUNCH OF 9th CHAPTER AT LUDHIANA WOMEN EMPOWERMENT, Hotel Park Plaza, Ludhiana

It was a red letter day for FICCI Ladies Organisation on May 22, 2012 as the 9th Chapter of FLO was launched at Ludhiana. An impressive launch programme was organized at Hotel Park Plaza in the presence of several eminent women from Ludhiana. The topic of the programme was “Women Empowerment: A Reality Check”.

Ms. Ravi Singh, Former State Information Commissioner of Punjab from Patiala was the Chief Guest at the occasion. In her inaugural address, Ms Singh stated that women empowerment in India is a challenging task and the most important step towards this goal is to initiate ground level actions. She added that the only solution is for women to come together as a unifying force and initiate self empowering actions at the ground level.

FLO is making its presence felt in the state of Punjab and Ludhiana is a strategic choice for the chapter with several dynamic and successful women entrepreneurs from the region showing keen interest in joining hands with FLO and taking the organization to greater heights.

Kavitha Varadaraj, President-FLO welcomed the guests and appraised everyone about FLO. Rashmi Bector from Ludhiana was installed as the Chairperson of the newly launched chapter. Rajni Bector will be the mentor of the new chapter. The chapter at Ludhiana was conceptualized by Neena Malhotra, Imm. Past President of FLO, who was also present at the occasion.
