FICCI FLO WOMEN ACHIEVER AWARDS 2019

FLO Chennai organised the ‘FLO Women Achiever Awards 2019’ on 25th February 2019 at Hotel Hyatt Regency to recognise the accomplishments of brilliant women from various fields.

The Chief Guest of the event was Hon’ble Governor of Tamil Nadu Thiru.Banwarilal Purohit and the special guest was Acclaimed Artist Ms.Suhasini Maniratnam.

The awardees were selected under five various categories such as, Professionals, Social Entrepreneurs, Upcoming Entrepreneurs, NGOs and Entrepreneurs by the three eminent jury members namely, Ms.Usha Krishna, Past President of FLO, Ms.Aruna Subramaniam, Trustee Bhoomika Trust and Mr.V.Balaraman, Former Managing Director, Ponds India and Independent Director on various corporate Boards.

The awardees were Ms.Sangeetha Shankaran Sumesh and Dr.R.A.Karthika under Professional Category, Dr.Srimathy Kesan under Social Entrepreneur Category, Ms.Sruti Harihara Subramanian under Upcoming Entrepreneur Category, ANEW – The Association for Non-Traditional Employment for Women (Ms.Vinodhini Sudhindran, President) under NGO Category, Ms.Kaveri Lalchand under Entrepreneur Category.

FLO Chennai had also announced a Special Mention Award under a sixth category.  The Awardee was Ms.B.Aswatha, a child Paleontologist (an 11 year old girl). Since she has a clear vision for her future at this age, FICCI FLO-Chennai honoured her with a special mention award, a certificate and a small memento.

The Event ended with a special dance performance ‘Shakti – The Strength of a Woman – A confluence of Kathak & Kuchipudi’ curated by Ms.Jigyasa Giru, Deveniya School of Kathak and Kalaimaamani Ms.Uma Murali, Subhasheela Academy.

The session was well-coordinated by Ms.Chitra Gopinath, Awards Convener & Committee Member and moderated by Ms.Geetha Muthuswamy, FLO Member  and Ms.Priya Goutham, Committee member.

This session was attended by over 200 FLO Members, Awardees, Guests and several Past Presidents and Past Chairpersons.
