The 10th chapter of FLO at Bengaluru was launched on November 20th, 2012. Ms. Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Chairman & Managing Director of Biocon Ltd. was the Guest of Honour at the occasion.
It was a well attended programme with over 100 leading women entrepreneurs and professionals participating enthusiastically to discuss various aspects of the new chapter.
In her address, Ms Kiran Mazumdar- Shaw encouraged women to come together as a unifying force and initiate self empowering actions at the ground level. She added that FICCI Ladies Organisation should act as a catalyst for change, with a clear road map to go ahead. She emphasized that education is a valuable resource and more focus should be given on Educate the Girl Child and Underprivileged Children. She also said that Issues like Waste Management, Traffic Problem, Water Problem etc. can be taken up by women in a serious manner.
Mr. S. N. Agarwal, Member of Executive Committee, FICCI and Chairman, Bhoruka Power Corporation Ltd. was also present at the occasion. He said that the new chapter at Bangalore is a step ahead in facilitating entrepreneurship development and professional excellence among women in Karnataka.
Ms Kavitha Varadaraj, President- FLO, while welcoming the distinguished guests and the members of the new chapter, said that she envisaged a plethora of activities that would be undertaken by Bangalore Chapter and looked forward to work collectively towards nurturing the new chapter and work towards the objective of FLO to empower women from all spheres. Ms Malvika Rai, Sr. Vice President –FLO was also present at the occasion and gave away the token of appreciation to the Guest of Honor.
Ms Shubha Kulkarni, Director, Altissimo Consulting Service Pvt. Ltd was announced as the chairperson of the Bangalore chapter.
Over 35 dynamic women entrepreneurs and professionals from Bangalore have already been enrolled at members of FLO.
