Ficci Flo Kolkata celebrated World Environment Day (WED)

FLO Kolkata Chapter raised Global Awareness amongst children to protect Nature and Planet Earth.

WED theme this year was “Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care.” The well-being of humanity, the environment, and the functioning of the economy, ultimately depend upon the responsible management of the planet’s natural resources. And yet, evidence is building that people are consuming far more natural resources than what the planet can sustainably provide.

WED is the opportunity for everyone to realize the responsibility to care for the Earth and to become agents of change.A fun filled hour of activities for the kids had been organized by FLO Members on 5th June.

There were above 35 children and about 20 members present. They with the help of a pot maker made their own pots with recycled paper and then planted trees in them. A small quiz was also organised.Gifts were given in form of small potted plants to the winners. Children and members enjoyed the event thouroughly.
