FICCI FLO JKL in Collaboration with MIET School of Law & DLSA (District Legal Services Authority) Hosts a Seminar on PoSH Act

FICCI FLO JKL, in collaboration with MIET School of Law & the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), hosted an enlightening seminar on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) at the Workplace. Hon’ble Ms. Bala Jyoti, Special Judge Anti-Corruption (CBI Cases) Jammu & Chairperson of the Gender Sensitization Internal Complaints Committee-1, was the Chief Guest.

Ms. Ruchika Gupta, Chairperson FICCI FLO JKL Chapter and Joint Director MIET welcomed the dignitaries, guests and students. She reiterated that it is incumbent upon all organizations to comply with the provisions under the PoSH Act in letter and spirit, allowing women to freely express themselves and contribute effectively in nation building, attaining the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

Speaking on the occasion, Hon’ble Ms. Bala Jyoti, in her presidential address provided an in-depth analysis of the modernization of the legal framework and its role in addressing contemporary challenges in India’s criminal justice system. Ms. Jyoti also offered profound insights into the legal framework surrounding the PoSH Act, discussing significant judgments and guidelines, including the landmark ‘Vishakha’ case.

Ms. Deepali Arora, Advocate at J&K High Court and Member of DLSA delivered an impactful presentation on “Women’s Empowerment and Safety in Educational Institutions,”. Next was a special address by Ms. Uma Kapahi, Advocate at J&K High Court, President of the Human Rights Council of J&K, and Member of DLSA, who shared her expertise and emphasized the importance of safeguarding women’s rights in the workplace.
