Festival of Handmade

FLO Bangalore launched a remarkable 5-day event, Social Initiatives, “Festival of Handmade”, in celebration of Gandhi Jayanti, in collaboration with A Hundred Hands between October 2nd and 6th. This event captured the essence of empowerment through community, skill development, and creativity.

Under the leadership of Dr. Nupur Handa, Chairperson of FLO Bangalore, alongside key figures Rupa Bajaj, Vandana Sarin, and Zainab, the initiative showcased the transformative impact of skill-building for women. The exhibition, well-known for promoting artisans, supported 5 clusters and celebrated the journeys of women who have gained confidence through skilling programs.

A highlight of the event was a vibrant showcase of organic handloom outfits styled by Prasad Bidappa, where FLO women walked the ramp with empowerment and self-assurance. The inclusion of Mehendi-trained girls emphasised the life-changing skills these women have acquired, leading to recognition and financial independence.

This exhibition showcased FLO’s commitment to uplifting women at the grassroots level. Special thanks to Anupama Gupta for her invaluable behind-the-scenes support, which contributed to making this event unforgettable.
