Environment Day : E-Waste Collection & Disposal Drive

On Environment Day, FICCI FLO JKL undertook a novel initiative to promote the conscious disposal of e-waste, addressing the escalating issue of electronic waste polluting the environment. A total of 1500 kg of e-waste was collected and disposed.

In collaboration with VRG Group, a pollution control board-certified e-waste collector, FICCI FLO JKL organized a door-to-door e-waste collection drive. Members of the organization were encouraged to dispose of their e-waste responsibly and through authorized collection agencies. The collected e-waste was weighed on the spot, and members were paid for their contributions immediately. Additionally, they were issued certificates recognizing their responsible disposal efforts, which was much appreciated by the members.

The purpose of this initiative was not only to collect e-waste but also to educate people about the importance of conscious disposal to mitigate environmental harm. E-waste collected and disposed of as part of this drive including mobile phones, computers, laptops, LCD monitors, fridges and freezers, printers, fax machines, overhead projectors, washing machines, routers, batteries, home theatre systems, DVD players, microwave ovens etc.
