Empowering ‘HER’ to Transform India with Shri Sachin Pilot

FICCI Ladies Organisation, Jaipur Chapter organized their second session for the tenure 2018-2019 “Empowering ‘HER’ to Transform India with Shri Sachin Pilot, President Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee.

He started by saying that women empowerment is not only a women issue. It’s all about the mindset that needs to be improved and changed. Women empowerment theory can only be changed if people change their mindset and women will be given decision making powered at professional and corporate levels. He further added that it’s not about gender equality it’s about giving same opportunity, dignity and respect to women. We are always talking that 30-40% women are working but are they getting the same powers and respect as the men do?

We need to bring a change in the mindset of people which will take time and to bring that change in the society we have to first bring the change at the initial and the household levels .

He then spoke about women security – the biggest issue in our country.

So many women are being sexually abused and even children. Rape, sexual harassment all such cases are increasing day by day in our country. He said that laws should be made so strict that people think before doing such things. The fear and punishment can stop such happenings.

Women should first be socially empowered and then comes political Empowerment.

The real asset is how rooted you are. If you are able to leave an impression in people’s heart and mind. “You be good to people on your way up, so that they are good to you on your way down.” – Sachin quoted. Social empowerment is the most important than the economic and political Empowerment.

We need to change our ecosystem first before changing things at the national level.
