YFLO Kolkata’s inaugural event was Elevate Your Game with Sania Mirza, India’s tennis superstar and former world number one player. In this event in a candid conversation she shared her experiences and insights on how to ELEVATE your game, both on and off the court.

Sania spoke about her successful tennis career and the numerous milestones that she achieved all throughout. She started with how she began her journey from Hyderabad and what actually motivated her to pursue a career in tennis.

She spoke about the consistent support that her parents gave and their constant sacrifices. Speaking of her achievements , she spoke about her significant milestones, one of the big ones being winning the Junior Wimbledon followed by becoming the world’s No.1 doubles player and most recent being the Grand Slam title after giving birth to her child.

Being a mother and being at the top of her career in Tennis, Sania spoke about how she has managed both parenthood and motherhood and the difficulties she has faced in balancing the two facets so perfectly.

She strongly spoke about gender inequality in sports, how it has changed over the years and how it can be addressed by addressing the issue. Finally , she concluded by speaking on her association with RCB in IPL and the following next chapters of her life.

Overall, the event was a great success where we celebrated 40Th year of FICCI by feliciating Sania Mirza for her contribution to India.
