The Times Network, through its flagship program ET Now’s Leaders of Tomorrow series, invited distinguished individuals to FLO Chennai’s Springboard event. Held on October 25th, 2024 at Regenta Central RS, the event titled “Driving Global Blueprint for Industrial Excellence”, a key session in the ongoing Season 12 of Leaders of Tomorrow. It is India’s longest-running television show focused on celebrating SME entrepreneurship and emerging business leaders.
During the event, the conversation centered on Chennai’s pivotal role in India’s industrial landscape, highlighting the factors that contribute to its reputation as the “Detroit of India.” Topics discussed included Tamil Nadu’s manufacturing potential, the strength of Chennai’s MSME sector, and the effectiveness of financial support initiatives like the Tamil Nadu Credit Guarantee Scheme, which aids MSMEs with collateral-free loans. The event further explored strategies to boost the presence and success of women entrepreneurs in Tamil Nadu’s industrial sector and discussed how Chennai’s industrial growth is driving positive changes in employment.
Chennai’s growing prominence in sectors like IT, AI, aerospace, and finance was a key discussion point. The city’s potential to attract foreign investment, especially amidst the global shift from China, was highlighted. The session underscored Chennai’s role as a hub for new-age industries and discussed the challenges and opportunities in its industrial ecosystem. Industry leaders emphasised Chennai’s contribution to India’s export capabilities and economic growth.
The Leaders of Tomorrow series, which has featured prominent voices Nitin Gadkari, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Nadir Godrej, Harsh Mariwala, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Gautam Singhania & Niranjan Hiranandani, among many others, aims to inspire emerging entrepreneurs by shedding light on India’s industrial progress and the vision needed for future growth.
