Digital Literacy on Wheels Launch and Certificate Distribution Ceremony

FLO Kanpur launched the “Digital Literacy on Wheels” initiative under the National Initiative – Digital Literacy to empower girls and women in rural areas through accessible digital education. Under the leadership of Chairperson Nalini Sanwal, the chapter also celebrated the completion of a digital literacy program conducted in Nagar Nigam schools, providing certification to 240 young girls who completed the course delivered over 4 months by an education partner Nimble Q Eduventure.

A special e-rickshaw sponsored by the Bawarchi Group was introduced. The e-rickshaw is equipped with 10 laptops, charging facilities, stools, and mats to facilitate digital learning in remote areas.

In partnership with E&ICT Academy, IIT Kanpur, the program will offer additional certifications to participants in February 2025, further enhancing their digital skills.

Ms. Anuradha Varshney guided the collaboration with Nagar Nigam and Dr. Preeti Gupta, President of Akanksha Samiti, Kanpur, joined as the Chief Guest. The event was chaired by Niti Tandon and Shweta Srivastav, with Swanky Gupta as Co-Chair. The execution of the successful event was made possible by the working committee members – Seema Lahoti, Nupur, Deepali, and Payal. CSR Partners to the event were Goldiee Masale, Lohia Corps, and the Premanjali Foundation.

Special thanks to Ms. Suchita, Principal of Tilak Nagar and RBRD schools, for hosting and supporting the event.

This initiative marks a significant step towards bridging the digital divide in rural communities and making digital education accessible to all. By equipping women and girls with essential digital skills, the program fosters empowerment and self-reliance, contributing to the broader vision of inclusive growth and education.
