On May 7th, 2024, the FLO Kanpur Chapter launched the Digital Literacy for Girls initiative at two Nagar Nigam schools – Civil Lines and Hiraman Purwa. The program aims to equip girls with essential computer coding skills, empowering them for future opportunities. The initiative saw enthusiastic participation from the girls, with Premanjali Foundation generously sponsoring 10 laptops to kickstart the program. Dr. Anuradha Varshney led the initiative as Mentor and Guide, with Meenu Jhunjhunwala and Cheistha Agarwal as Event Chairs, supported by members Nitika Asthana, Divya Garg, and Ruchi Saraf. This initiative is expected to impact 120 girls, bridging the digital divide in government education and preparing them for future careers in technology.
