YFLO Hyderabad held a landmark event across four chapters – Delhi, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata—titled “Digital Armor: Protecting Your Business in the Cyber Age.” on October 22nd, 2024. This collaboration, in partnership with FLO National President Joyshree Das Varma, addressed the growing importance of cybersecurity for businesses in today’s digital era.

With the rise of data breaches, ransomware attacks, and other cyber threats, the need to protect sensitive business information is more urgent than ever. The event was designed to provide practical insights and strategies to help attendees safeguard their digital assets, offering a platform for business leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals to learn from leading experts.

The event featured two distinguished experts in cybersecurity who shared their expertise and experience. Shri Balaji Venketeshwar, a highly respected cyber risk management expert, delivered the keynote address titled “Cyberwarfare in the 21st Century: Threats to National Security and Sovereignty.”. He serves as the Cyber Defense Researcher and Chief Mentor at Cybervidyapeeth Foundation, has held prominent roles such as Chief Information Security Officer at BSE and IDFC First Bank, and Director of Cyber Defense at Qualcomm. His extensive career includes designing India’s largest cyber defense project as Executive Director at PwC.

In his keynote, Shri Venketeshwar highlighted the growing menace of cyberwarfare and cybercrime, explaining their profound impact on national security and critical infrastructure. He shared real-life examples, such as the Ukrainian power grid hack, and discussed how digital platforms have been used to influence public opinion. He stressed the importance of global cooperation and public awareness in countering these threats.

Ayub Shaik, a seasoned leader in deep tech and cybersecurity, led a special session on “Effective Cyber Defense Strategies.” With over 22 years of experience, Ayub specialises in AI security, cyber warfare, and data privacy. His session focused on practical solutions for protecting critical infrastructure, managing cyber risks, and developing incident response plans.
Ayub provided an overview of emerging cyber risks and best practices for safeguarding digital systems. He emphasised the role of employee training and awareness in creating a cybersecurity-conscious workforce and illustrated his points with real-life case studies of recent cyber incidents.
