Demystifying Mutual Funds & Stocks

YFLO Kolkata organized a virtual Financial Literacy Masterclass on the benefits of investing in Mutual Funds and Stock Markets, in association with the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM), a public trust established by SEBI. 22 members attended this webinar.

Under the guidance of Joyshree Das Varma, National President of FICCI FLO, and the Financial Literacy Initiative led by CA Shubhraa Maheshwari, the event aimed to demystify the concepts of Mutual Funds and Stock Market investments. This initiative was supported by NISM and 16 FLO Chapters across India.

The masterclass covered various aspects of the financial markets, which have evolved to offer secure investment options. Members learned how to choose between short- and long-term investments that provide secure returns. Key discussions focused on SIP (Systematic Investment Plans), which allow individuals to invest monthly in Mutual Funds without a fixed amount, and how these plans are generating attractive returns.

The session also highlighted the dynamics of the Stock Market, including its potential for rapid returns, while also emphasizing the risks associated with it, which are influenced by global factors. The experts in the field provided valuable insights on how investors can minimize risks and maximize benefits when entering the stock market.
