Under the leadership of Chairperson Ms. Aarmeen Mogul Dordi, FLO Mumbai, in collaboration with 16 FLO Chapters, organized a virtual session titled “Demystifying Mutual Funds and Equity Stocks.” The session was conducted with the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM), a SEBI-registered entity, as the knowledge partner.
The session was led by FLO National Initiative Financial Literacy Head CA Shubhraa Maheshwari, who emphasized the significance of financial literacy and highlighted FLO’s ongoing initiatives to empower women with knowledge on investing.
Expert speakers, Mr. Joydeep Das and Dr. Dhiraj Jain from NISM provided in-depth insights into the world of Mutual Funds and Stock Markets. Mr. Das elaborated on the Indian Mutual Funds market, its functioning, and key parameters for investing in SIPs. He stressed the importance of evaluating market indicators, researching stocks, and assessing risk factors to ensure safe investments.
Dr. Jain delivered a comprehensive analysis of the Indian stock markets, explaining factors influencing market trends such as geopolitical events, FII investments, sectoral growth, and government policies. He also highlighted SEBI’s regulations to safeguard investor interests and provided strategies for minimizing risks through careful analysis of company performance, PE ratios, and management holdings.
The session concluded with a Q&A where members’ queries on investment strategies, market trends, and risk management were addressed by the experts. FLO member Pooja Bansal, who led the Art vertical, delivered the vote of thanks, summarizing the session’s key takeaways.
