Hema Malini in Radha Krishna ballet ‘Raas Leela’ with her troupe of 45 artists from Mumbai
The Radha Krishna Ballet was a choreographic effort under the stewardship under Ms.Hema Malini attempts to bring to light a few notable events in Lord Krishna’s sojourn on earth. More particularly his youthful leelas for which he is adored, admired and venerated.
In the Indian mythology Krishna the most charming of all Hindu gods uses his magic flute to great effect. By his magic powers he multiplies himself to dance with all the Gopikas at once in a truly transcendent form of dance called the Raas Leela.
FLO Jaipur Chapter under the chairpersonship of Ms. Vinnie Kakkar organized an enchanting dance ballet on Radha Krishna at Birla Auditorium on 16th August 2012. The world famous bharatnatyam dancer and actress, Hema Malini was elegance personified as Radha and she along with Rahul D’souza as Krishna left the audience spellbound by their memorable performance. The play brought alive the romance of Brindavan forests and the endearing relationship Krishna shared with gopis and his beloved Radha.The songs sung by renowned playback singers Kavitha Krishnamurthy and Suresh Wadekar complimented the dances very well.
The guest of honour for the evening was Ms. Margret Alva, Governor Rajasthan .In her speech she spoke about women empowerment and congratulated Ficci Flo for it’s endeavors.
Ms Kakkar spoke about the various social initiatives taken by Ficci Flo this year, including the Anganwari programs undertaken to provide vocational training to young women and the sanitation and plantation drive at the Soda Village. The program was attended by a large number of members and even guests showed a lot of enthusiasm . The hall was packed to the hilt, and Ms Mailini was overwhelmed with the response of Jaipur.All the participants of the play were honoured with a stole each by the committee members in the end.
