Yflo Kolkata organized a retreat for members to Coorg, Karnataka. Situated on the hilly western ghats , set amidst verdant valleys, acres and acres of coffee and oranges, and bounteous hardwood forests with subtle fragrance of cloves, pepper and cardamom wafting across, Coorg is one of the last remaining bastions of an era bygone. This retreat was completely in sync with YFLO Kolkata’s ‘Go Green’ theme. Bordered by the legendary river Cauvery, and surrounded by virginal forests, The Orange County, a 300 acre working plantation resort perched at a height of 800m had been the most befitting choice of accommodation for us. Orange County adheres to the fundamentals of ‘Responsible tourism’ through its various initiatives and has been awarded for it. We indulged in the opportunity for members to immerse themselves in the intoxicating aroma of Coorg coffee and spices, by taking evening plantation tours, soft forest treks of the mammoth 50000 acres of the Dubare Reserve exploring the splendid flora and fauna and by sweating it out on the cycle trails. The one of the highlights of the retreat was an interactive session with the Chairman of Orange County Resorts, Mr Emmanuel T Ramapuram.
