The change of Guard is a tradition that FLO adheres to every single year….it signifies the change at the helm of this organization…a smooth transition where a new Chairperson takes over but continues with FLO’s vision of Empowerment of Women.
FLO Bombay held their annual Change of Guard Ceremony on 28th of April 2011 at Tote on Turf, Mahalaxmi, Mumbai where Mrs. Sucheta Shah took over the chairpersonship of FLO Bombay Chapter for the present year.
This year along with Change of Guard ceremony we also felicitated women who have become successful entrepreneurs due to their personal skills, some of them being;
Ms Tarla Dalal, who is not only a celebrated cook but also one of the top five bestselling cookery authors in the world. She has written more than 170 titles, many of which have been translated in various languages, the total sales of her cookery books have exceed 4 million copies.
Ms. Shillpa Purii, who is designing and manufacturing Jewellery since the year 1992. Her collection includes Jewellery in Gold-22 K, 18 K, Diamonds, Kundan and Semi Precious stones which is being exported to Dubai and London. Along with many big designer boutiques in India actresses like Sushmita Sen, Kareena Kapoor and many more are also part of her high profile clientele.
Mrs. Sucheta Shah, Chairperson FLO Bombay chapter announced her vision & annual calendar for the year 2011-2012.
Mrs. Sucheta Shah announced that FLO this year has partnered with The Bajaj CSR Team for our ongoing Sanitation project for girls in the schools. With support of Grameen Initiative for Women (GIW) we have already donated Rs.132000/- to Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Vidyalay which requires sanitation facility. Also our “Ghar Ki Roti” project starts its third workshop with the YMCA.
The vision was unveiled in front of a large gathering of FLO Bombay members who were present in full strength to support the new team.
The event was followed by dinner.
