CHAKKI CHARPAI

Chakki Charpai’, an initiative by Kr. Ritu Singh is a chain of rural dhabas, launched in collaboration with JKRLM under the UMEED scheme. The aim of the program is to build capacities among rural women to generate income sustainably using local produce and knowledge. Utensils were donated and basic equipment and training imparted in pickle and jam making for the same. FLO helped UMEED women obtain a space for the physical Dhaba and the women inaugurated their kitchen during the festival of Navratri by making kheer parshad and praying to Goddess Durga.
