Breaking the Glass Ceiling

FICCI FLO Northeast hosted a talkshow by Mrs. Nidhi Lauria, Business Head Assam & North East Circle, India on 9th May 2018. FLO is a business organisation working as the ladies wing of FICCI, focussing around women’s empowerment.

Nidhi Kashyap Lauria has been known as the First Female Business Head of a Telecommunication Company in India. But this story is different.

Not only is she breaking glass ceilings in the telecommunication industry, but has also taken her community initiative to a new step. This is a chance to discover another side of Nidhi Kashyap Lauria, the social entrepreneur who is helping underprivileged women become financially independent through Dwaarpe.

She was in conversation with present chairperson Sarita Sikaria and past chairperson Joyshree Das Verma. The members felt instant connection with Mrs. Lauria when she shared insights about her professional and personal life and by how relevant they were to each and every woman present during the talk.

She spoke about leadership, sustainability of position for women at organisations, safety of women at workplace and also the presence of attrition rate of women employees at every level.  She also gave tips on how to balance professional life with family life.

The function was well received by past chairpersons, members and guests alike.
