Break the Silence, Break the Stigma : Menstrual Drive

FLO Amritsar organised a menstrual drive aimed at eliminating period poverty and creating lasting change by breaking the silence and stigma surrounding menstruation. Through this initiative, women and girls were empowered for a brighter future.
This drive was held in three phases:

May 26, 2024
Location: Skill Centre, Wadala Bhitewad
Time: 12:00 pm

May 27, 2024
Location: Central Jail, Amritsar
Time: 11:00 am

May 28, 2024
Location: Sehyog State After Care Home (Nari Niketan Complex)
Time: 10:00 am

Niine Foundation generously provided sanitary napkins, ensuring that no woman or girl went without essential menstrual products.
The drive transformed silence into dialogue and stigma into support, ensuring that menstruation is seen as a mark of strength and resilience. The participants gained valuable knowledge about menstrual hygiene and anemia, empowering them with the tools and resources necessary for better health.

Impact:
– Over 200 women and girls received sanitary napkins and hygiene education.
– Anemia tests were conducted, and treatment was provided to those in need.
– The drive fostered a supportive environment, encouraging open dialogue about menstruation.

This initiative has made a significant impact, and we are committed to continuing our efforts to eliminate period poverty and empower women and girls for a brighter, healthier future

Additionally, a comprehensive Anemia Awareness: Test & Treat Camp was hosted with the support of the partners: The Project Rakt, NYS Hospitals, Ravenbhel Pharmaceuticals, and Emcure. The camp included anemia testing and treatment, further enhancing the health and well-being of the participants.
