Better Leh’t than Never: YFLO Annual Retreat in Ladakh, Powered by Encompass Experiences

FLO Delhi enjoyed a talk and an interaction with Sonam Wangchuk, the Ladakhi engineer, innovator and education reformist, who has been spearheading an educational and cultural movement in this remote land since the eighties. They delegates also visited the Jigmat Museum and Couture Studio and met with world-renowned textile design couple -JigmatNorbu and JigmatWangmo- both worked successfully in India’s fashion industry for years, before launching Jigmat Couture in Leh in 2010. This was a unique opportunity to talk to the local regional experts on this fascinating and distinctive industry.

The itinerary also included Thiksey monastery, lunch at a picturesque setting by the Zanskar, Ladakhi Cultural, walking tour of the Hamlet of Thiksey visiting a local home in the village, visit to MathoMonastery, noted for its six-hundred-year-old thangkas and its conservation project of the monastery undertaken by local women and led by a spirited team from all parts of the globe.

YFLO Delhi got a chance to immerse, connect and get inspired by the place and its people. Yet we also got a chance to bond and enjoy the finer things in life on this memorable glamping trip curated by Taruna Seth, Encompass Experiences: www.goencompass.in
