Basics of Banking & Investments, Event powered by HDFC Bank

In the last general meeting held on 11th June, ’13, the young FLO members in attendance felt the need to have an inter active session on the basics of banking. Meanwhile HDFC Bank had also offered their services to jointly organize an event with FLO NE Chapter

Chairperson Monisha Baruwa welcomed all FLO members , guests and all officials of HDFC Bank present. She thanked the bank for agreeing to be a part of the event. She also shared couple of good news pertaining to the Chapter – Imme past chairperson Ms. Queen Oja was congratulated on her taking over as Chairperson of Industrial Co operative Bank,she was felicitated by past chair Saroj Khemka with a flower bouquet. Monisha informed the gathering that the chapter member strength has reached 59 with 7 new members and the new members present were introduced to all .Chairperson also shared with all about members about Pronita Baruva’s selection for the IWEC Award and also congratulated her. She then requested HDFC to take over.

Mr Sudhir Rai of HDFC Bank started the event by sharing basics of banking and the different types of accounts and the features and benefits. Special emphasis was laid on Women’s advantage account which has a host of features which are very beneficial for women and how it can be effective. He conducted an interactive session with members and guests present which was very interesting and enlightening.

Mr Samardeep Phukan,Branch Manager RG Baruah Road branch conducted the second session wherein he explained the different types of investments available from HDFC and laid stress on the different types of insurance specially targeted to women and insurance coverage of gender related diseases. This session was an eye opener considering medical needs and options available to tide through times of crisis and how investments chosen coupled with careful planning, one’s finance can be invested keeping contingencies and emergencies in mind.

Session ended with present members already having accounts with HDFC sharing their banking experiences, grievances were also shared to which the Bank promised to take it up.
