Thanks to Queen Baidow for arranging this eye-opening event at the Harijan Colony.About a 100 men, women and children listened attentively as FLO NE members interacted with them , enquiring about the daily problems faced by them, and they were many but not insurmountable, if their most basic needs of toilets and assured clean water supply is met.

They were already aware of the importance of cleanliness, but their living conditions and lack of basic amenities makes even the washing of hands an almost impossible task.

Ms Tullika Buragohain deputed by Unicef from the PHED Assam was very effective in conveying to them the importance of Sanitation, Cleanliness and Hygiene for a Healthy Environment, and Prevention of many diseases.

Many of them who had come in the cold without socks were highly appreciative of getting them from member Sarita Sikaria.

This event was part of the Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan

They do not have proper toilets or sources of water for daily functions.
