The FLO Jaipur “Art Fair “was held on May 4 and 5, 2024 at RIC, Jaipur under the leadership of Ms. Raghushree Poddar, Chairperson FLO Jaipur.
The event, Under the initiative of Handloom & Handicrafts, Business Exchange, Corporate Women Directors Program, and Fashion & Jewellery, was a celebration that highlighted the rich cultural heritage and artisanal craftsmanship of Rajasthan and beyond. This event not only served as a cultural extravaganza but also presented a significant business opportunity for the region, energizing tourism and fostering economic growth.
15 award-winning artisans from Rajasthan have been honored with Free complimentary booths for display and recognition. The remaining booths were generously sponsored by our committee members, showcasing their support for promoting local craftsmanship.
The inaugural day of the fair was graced by the esteemed presence of Maharaj Kumar Sahib, Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Ji Mewar of Udaipur, who inaugurated the event with a compelling speech emphasizing the importance of preserving Rajasthan’s cultural heritage. Visitors explored an array of 88 booths showcasing diverse artisanal works, while the specially curated Craft Villa featured live art demonstrations. Students from 12 schools presented their art pieces, enriching the event’s cultural diversity. Engaging in workshops in doodling, photography, sculpture, and miniature art offered attendees a chance to delve into creative processes.
The second day featured thought-provoking talk shows, including Ms. Jasleen Khurana Joshi’s insights on “The Power of Art for Holistic Development of Children” and expert discussions on “Art, Architecture, and Restoring Antique Pieces.” Another impactful session, “Entrepreneurs Under Ghoonghat,” explored the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs. Portraits by renowned artists drew significant attention.
The day’s attractions included a live pottery workshop that captivated audiences throughout the event, live canvas painting sessions, and demonstrations of handcrafted products at various stalls, making the event both interactive and educational.
The fair witnessed over 5,000 inquiries leading to an estimated future business value of approximately Rs. 3.25 Crores. The Art Villa showcased exquisite artworks that resulted in numerous sales and pre-bookings, while the Craft Villa, with its 55 stalls and live demonstrations, attracted domestic and international buyers alike.
Special recognition was extended to Shri Sitaram Ji Chauhan, the master sculptor responsible for the iconic Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II statue, acknowledging his remarkable craftsmanship. Students from Jayshree Periwal International School showcased their talent through live painting sessions.
The Jaipur Art Fair successfully blended tradition with innovation, provided a platform for artists and artisans, encouraged young talent, and fostered significant business opportunities.
