In recognition of exemplary contribution to a particular field of work by a woman and to identify young women talent in these fields, relating stories behind successful and appealing brands, gruelling efforts and persistence to excel, FICCI LADIES ORGANISATION & SANMARG put together a platform for women of Kolkata from various professions. For their initiative, path breaking achievements, for making a difference or simply for thriving to excel and setting an example for millions out there.

The shining stars.
True to commitment. Woman of words. A driving force. These words often describe them. They have all carved a niche for themselves in their particular fields. Professionalism and inspiration thrives in their bloodline. Along with their professional façade they beautifully balance roles of mothers, daughters and wives. These are the true women of substance. We salute you.

The verdict is yours.
We welcome the readers, members of FLO and voice of the masses, to an open poll to choose the winners under each nomination category. Each category will have two winners, one in the veteran category with more than 5 to 7years contribution in a particular field and the other is the Young Achiever, for a new comer with extraordinary talents. We will have a panel of eminent jury to validate your poll and take a final, amicable decision.

The event.
The poll and the newspaper has had overwhelming response. Over 15000 hits on the www.ficciflokolkata.com and more than 40,000 entries in the newspaper office. It took more than 3 weeks to tabulate the winners. The same will be announced at an award ceremony to be held on 12th April, 2010 at The Oberoi Grand Calcutta.
