Advantage Women Entrepreneurs: New CARE Entrepreneurship Programs

The Conference on “Advantage Women Entrepreneurs – New CARE Entrepreneurship Programs” was held on September 17th, 2024 in Chennai, organised by the Andhra Chamber of Commerce.

The event commenced with a welcome address, followed by an overview of the conference and a series of special and keynote addresses by distinguished speakers including Mr. S. Narasimhan, Vice President of ACC, Ms. Rama Venugopal, Chairman of the Entrepreneurship Subcommittee, Dr. V. L. Indira Dutt, President of ACC and Past President of FICCI FLO, and Smt. Sudha Shivakumar, the Immediate Past President of FICCI FLO, also served as the chief guest. The opening session set the tone for the day, emphasizing the importance of empowering women entrepreneurs in the CARE economy.

CMA CA CS Divya Abhishek, Chairperson of FICCI FLO Chennai Chapter, was a key highlight of the event, delivering an impactful keynote on building sustainable businesses within the green and blue economies. She passionately advocated for women entrepreneurs to spearhead the transition towards sustainability. Ms. Divya detailed actionable strategies for incorporating green and blue economy practices into business models, including leveraging financial services, embracing corporate leadership, and aligning business objectives with environmental goals. Her presentation underscored the critical need for sustainability in business and positioned women as pivotal leaders in this movement.

The event also featured:

  • Mrs. V. Kavitha Dutt Chitturi, Joint Managing Director, The KCP Ltd, and Past President FICCI FLO, discussing the future of women entrepreneurship.
  • Dr. Indumathi M. Nambi, Professor, Environment and Water Resources Division, IIT Madras, addressing environmental challenges and sustainable practices.
  • Dr. Uma Maheswari P, CEO of TN-Rise Women Startup Council, and Mrs. Archana Stalin, Founder of myHarvest Farms, on rural women entrepreneurs in the CARE economy.
  • Ms. A Nina Reddy, Joint Managing Director, Savera Hotel, and Mrs. Kalpana Vummidi, Founder, Prakrithi, on leadership in hospitality and gems & jewellery.
  • Ms. Mahalakshmi Saravanan, Founder of Women Entrepreneurs India, on Role of Mentors in Building CARE Enterprises.

The conference concluded on a high note with an engaging open interaction with the audience. The event successfully offered valuable insights and practical strategies for empowering women entrepreneurs across diverse sectors, especially within the CARE economy.
